Our Hope, Jesus Christ

As we move towards Christmas at rapid speed, let’s pause for a moment and remember why we celebrate. Our Hope, named Jesus Christ, was born into a world of darkness so that He could restore us back to our Creator. We must expect to see God move in our lives. Since evil is always trying to drive the conversations in our heads to the negative, pause, and remember the prayers God answered. If you have not gotten an answer yet, continue to call for and look for God’s reply. Christ-follower’s hope is not based on our shortcomings but instead on the loving compassion of God that cannot deny Himself. Require God as you do air to breathe and quietly watch as He takes action in your life. I recall this to my mind, Therefore I wait. The LORD’S acts of mercy indeed do not end, For His compassions do not fail. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness. “The LORD is my portion,” says my soul, “Therefore I wait for Him.” The LORD is good to those who await Him, To the person who seeks

Let thy will be done

Below is a selection from the commentary of Dr. Whitby on the Lord’s Prayer. “Let thy will be done: that we may neither displease God in anything we do nor be displeased at anything God does. We ask for our bread: that teaches us honesty and industry; we do not ask for the bread out of other people’s mouths, not the bread of deceit (Prov. 20:17; not the bread of idleness (Prov. 31:27) but the bread of honesty.” Today is Wednesday of thanksgiving week. May we thank God for the guidance throughout our day, allowing us the opportunity of provision. God provides us with morals, Proverbs, creativity, and grit. Walk in the joy of knowing we serve an Amazing God!!! Photo by Mae Mu on Unsplash

Thankful for His Comfort

Today is Tuesday of Thanksgiving week, and I want to praise God for His comfort. Due to the gathering rules or fear of traveling, many are going to be alone this Thanksgiving. You probably don’t want to read another post on being grateful. Maybe your heart is heavy with loneliness, or you are dreading the hours by yourself. My husband deployed for many holidays, so I understand the sadness. One holiday, I watched an entire Japanese movie with subtitles. That can fall into the “You know you are bored when” category. “Come to Me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is comfortable, and My burden is light” Matthew 11:28-30. Please talk to God about your emotions. I did not say whine. Have an adult conversation and allow God to guide you through this long weekend. Don’t allow yourself to pray hollow or fake words of gratitude; that just mus

Remembering What God Has Done

In today’s world, we hear, “It’s not fair” often. Who decides what is fair? Especially in a world that believes the end justifies the means. Just to be clear, for Christ-followers, it is how we represent God through our journey of life that is important. Failure for us is when we do not follow God’s teachings, obey His voice, or take matters into our own hands due to lack of trust. For Thanksgiving Monday, I want to thank God for the big dose of “Fear of the Lord” I have. God’s word says in Psalm 19:9, “The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever; the judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether.” Those that fear God constrain themselves because they understand their Father. Personally, that godly fear helps me relax because I trust that God will hold to His promises. I enjoy watching God work on His children’s behalf, well-being, and cries-of-the-heart. I won’t lie that sometimes my prayer life may look like I am watching a nail-biting drama. After spending time with Go

God is Moving

I know many Christians have judge those Christ-followers that support President Trump. Social media is full of written words chastising sisters and brothers because Mr. Trump has a promiscuous past life. Which is odd to me because I thought that was the purpose of Jesus to set us free from the bondage of sin. Did God's word say, "Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old things passed away; behold, all things have become new?" With that said, I have several questions for all who love and follow God. Do you believe that it will take a miracle by God for Donald Trump to have a second term? So when God does put President Trump back in for a second term, those who criticized, will you revisit your public judgments? "If Satan casts out Satan, he is divided against himself; how then will his kingdom stand? If I by Beelzebul cast out demons, by whom do your sons cast them out? For this reason, they will be your judge," Matthew 12:26-27. I am not a

Isolation

Isolation is one of the cruelest things evil can do to people. It does not even have to be actual separation from people but instead emotionally. That feeling you don’t have anything to offer, so you don’t speak. Soon, you begin to believe you are not wanted, so you stop participating. The ultimate hopelessness is that you don’t feel like you matter, so you want to fade away. When you become mentally detached from all opportunities to be loved or touched, it becomes a slow, painful death on the inside. Many suffer from the silent killer of feeling all alone. When you say your prayers tonight and many future nights, please remember those that silently suffer. It is not required for you to understand depression for you to seek God on their behalf. Satan will cause chaos in any form he can. It is our job to be God’s watchman on the wall. If you suffer from feeling secluded, call out to God. He will answer you. And I said to the nobles, the officials, and the rest of the people, “The work

Remember

If I do not see results immediately, it is easy for me to get discouraged. What has helped me is setting short-term goals along with long-term goals. When it comes to spiritual obedience, there are no self-appointed goals. What do you do? We all put up safety nets of some sort, whether they are mental or physical. Those go-to thoughts or visuals that reassure you that everything will work; you are safe. For Christ-followers, we need to engage one word, "Remember." "Thus the sons of Israel did not remember the LORD their God, who had delivered them from the hands of all their enemies on every side" Judges 8:34. The practice of recalling God's word and all His deeds is what steadies my anxious mind. It is stunning to me how fast one group of discouraging words can ripple through my mind and cause uneasiness. If I entertain the words too long, frustration can kick in because I can't see any hope. If there is no hope, then the fatigue of waiting can appear; my

Odd Man Out

The verse of today's topic is a repeat because the pressure to go along with the crowd is extreme. It is curious how society condemns bullying but uses it as the primary weapon of control. Very few people enjoy being the odd man out, so I think that is why evil pushes that inclusion button often. God has every watchman on the wall and intercessors reminding His people to stand firm in faith and watch and pray. We will revisit Isaiah 8:12-13. "You are not to say 'It is a conspiracy' in regard to all that this people call a conspiracy and you are not to fear what they fear or be in dread of it. It is the Lord of hosts whom you should regard as holy. And He shall be your fear, and He shall be your dread." The media of all sorts is attempting to control information. It does not matter. Focus on God and fear Him. When I looked up the original word's translation, one of the definitions absolutely made me smile. "People who fear God delight in hearing of His

What is Next?

I remember once reading about a gentleman that had a prophetic gift. He would get so frustrated because people would constantly ask him, “Do you have a word for me?” This one particular night, a lady came up to him and asked him the question. In his irritability, he grabbed the Bible and said, “Read this.” The lady took that as a calling from God. When the man visited a few years later, the lady’s knowledge of God’s word was known throughout the town. So, what’s next in your life? Are you looking for that prophetic word to be spoken over you? Do you want that “special” spiritual gift so bad you can’t stand it? Are you waiting for that “Big bus of unique” to come rolling into your life? How do you see God and your relationship? “For Ezra had set his heart to study the law of the Lord and to practice it, and to teach His statutes and ordinances” Ezra 7:10. Before anything spectacular can take place in your life, you have to commit or set some goals. I don’t care if you believe or not b

God Guide Me

God’s word gives us clear words on prophecy. Like many things of God, Satan has a shadow version so he may deceive society. Since modern predictions scare me, if you are like me, I just mind my own business and do what God asks me to do. Is that thoroughly Biblical? Did God’s word say in Acts 2:17-21 that His people shall prophesy in the last days? If so, then why do God’s people recoil if someone mentions a prophetic word? What can we do about it? These past few days, I have stood firm on most prophecies concerning the election. Why? Because the ones I am looking at require God’s people to seek God for intervention. Nothing about that goes against the will of God. I guess the next question is, “Am I setting myself up for disappointment?” The last time I questioned God, He brought me to the words of Hebrews 10:38. “MY RIGHTEOUS ONE SHALL LIVE BY FAITH: AND IF HE SHRINKS BACK; MY SOUL HAS NO PLEASURE IN HIM.” The all caps are from the New American Standard Bible and not me. During the

Abraham's Journey

The story of Abraham has always been a sense of inspiration to me. When I hear the Bible story, I can visualize the process Abraham took. God gave Abraham an order. Abraham packed his supplies, traveled three days, gave his servants instructions, loaded up his son and supplies, and stepped forward to complete his ordered mission from God. It was a process of time. As a little girl, when I heard the story, I thought Abraham went that moment to sacrifice his son. It was not that way. There were days in which Abraham had to maintain his faith. There were days; he traveled burdened with the task at hand. Could you imagine what was going through his head? The strength and courage it took not to bolt? What would you have thought while you walked that three-day path? I bet you are considering those thoughts right now. Do not give up. Many times we are sent on missions that appear to have no end. That is because the journey is the task. God needs His people to intercede on behalf of our na

God is in Control

Visual aids are used to set a mood mentally. You know this for yourself when you read a headline that makes your heart sink. When used positively, photos, Bible verses, or trinkets can remind us to stay on a godly track. At this time, evil is trash-talking to instill fear or hopelessness. For many of the ladies I teach, discouragement attempts to proclaim, “your life will never get any better.” I am here to remind us all that evil is a liar. The story in the book of Luke 18:1-8 encourages us to wear God out with conversations concerning our lives. Personally, I have stood on this parable in prayer to God in respect to my failing legs. God answered me quickly! Do not lose heart! God is a God of justice, and He will bring about justice for this nation. What if God blessed us with more than we ever thought to ask? “Will not God bring about justice for His elect who cry to Him day and night, and will He delay long over them?” Have faith that God is moving on behalf of His children. Stop

Cry Out

One of my favorite Bible stories is in Mark 9:14-29. Maybe this quote will help you remember. “I do believe; help my unbelief.” Maybe for some, you are panicking inside with all the election misconduct. I believe we are not done yet in prayer. You see, God does not share the stage with anyone. For the truth to be revealed, it will be by the power of God. For this to be One Nation Under God, it will need to be an act of God. The one thing I have discovered these last three years is the depth of corruption in all government institutions. This discovery is not only shameful but embarrassing. In some form, I supported some of these amoral or unethical organizations or people. May I shout it from the rooftops? I am tired of the media’s propaganda. I feel like the scene from Princes Bride; “Liar!” I need to stop and get to the point, which is verse 29. “This kind cannot come out by anything but prayer.” If you feel helpless right this moment, remember, “All things are possible to him who b

The Day After the Election

It’s the day after the election, and everyone has an opinion. There is no end to all the voices that want to tell you how to feel. “How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How vast is the sum of them!” Psalm 139:17. I had to learn years ago to settle things with God before telling two special people in my life. They love me and are quick to try and protect me. What they were really doing was influencing my decisions. Matthew 16:23 shows how Jesus dealt with someone attempting to influence a decision, but in actuality, was going against God’s will. Emotions are funny that way, in that they can encourage you to sin against God. So today, instead of listening to people tell you what to feel, ask God how He feels about the issues. Allow Him the opportunity to guide you with His word, so you know what to do or say. He is the Creator of all. So spend time with Him to renew your mind instead of adding to the garbage.

Praise God

Today my prayer group started the day with zoom praise and worship. By praising God, you are declaring Who God is and that He answers the prayers of His people. Today stand firm in all praise and all glory to God. Verse 8 gives us all a warning. "Do not fret; it leads only to evil doing." God's people asked; now, it is time to be patient and watch God move.

Do Not be Deceived

About seven years ago, society began to broadcast, “It does not matter that she is lying, we need to believe her anyway.” The mindset to accept serial liars has been decades in the making. The thought is even if the truth contains the solution to advance your way of life, if it offends anyone’s senses, you are to reject it. Be honest, do you trust any form of media? If you do, is it because it conforms and supports your perspective? Is that not the purpose; to make us all question the foundation of truth? “But I am afraid that, as the serpent deceived Eve by his trickery, your minds will be led astray from sincere and pure devotion to Christ” 2 Corinthians 11:3. The two words that I will concentrate on are simplicity and purity. What do they mean? Instead of telling you, I am going to put the meaning in a prayer. It is vitally important that children-of-God don’t get swept away with deceiving spirits. Let’s face it; deception works because it appeals to our fleshly desires. Dear Heav
