Below is a selection from the commentary of Dr. Whitby on the Lord’s Prayer.
“Let thy will be done: that we may neither displease God in anything we do nor be displeased at anything God does. We ask for our bread: that teaches us honesty and industry; we do not ask for the bread out of other people’s mouths, not the bread of deceit (Prov. 20:17; not the bread of idleness (Prov. 31:27) but the bread of honesty.”
Today is Wednesday of thanksgiving week. May we thank God for the guidance throughout our day, allowing us the opportunity of provision. God provides us with morals, Proverbs, creativity, and grit. Walk in the joy of knowing we serve an Amazing God!!!
