Faith in God's Abilities is Our Shield

A phrase I say to the ladies I teach is “Follow your actions to the end.” What I am trying to teach is for them to stop and ask themselves, “What am I trying to achieve, and will my actions help bring it about?” So, today I will ask you, the reader, to do the same concerning your words, prayers, and proclamations. Do your words line up with the Word of God? Do your prayers sound like words of faith or fearful cries of pity? Are you proclaiming God’s ability or your fears? Our faith that God can is the shield that will protect us against Satan’s attempts to distract, defeat and destroy us. If you don’t know what God’s word teaches, how can you have faith in God’s abilities? If your prayers actually sound like doubt, how can God move on your behalf? If fear affects every decision you make in your life, then fear has become the god of your life. Our military understands their mission and stands firm in what they are doing to achieve that mission. But, unfortuna...

Pray Trust Wait

People always tattle on themselves. I have no idea why, but if you just sit long enough and listen, people will give insight into what they believe and what they are capable of doing. How are you verbally displaying God concerning the events occurring in your life, community, and the world? Do people hear about the power of God, or are they discovering how downright scared you are? Numbers 13 is a story of twelve leaders that were sent out to spy out the land of Canaan. Understand these were leaders, not random people. God had given them the authority and privilege to guide their tribe. Only two, Caleb and Joshua, gave a good report that if the people trusted God for the victory, they would be able to take possession of the land. In fact, in verse 30, Caleb said, “For we will surely overcome it.” The rest of the “leaders” stirred fear in the heart of their tribes and proclaimed, “We are not able to go up against the people, for they are too strong for us.” Fear is the number one driver...
